So much excitement, one more sleep to go! Bags are (nearly) all packed, except for a few random bits and pieces. As you can see, Percy is eagerly awaiting another plane trip.
The winning hashtags for this adventure both went to Sarah, and are #MelAndBradWhatATimeTheyHad and #TheTimeWeBecameTourists….because we will be epic tourists this time around. So much touristing to be done. So much gelato to be eaten.
First stop: Barcelona!
(Well, first stop after 30 hours in various airports…obviously…)

Wonderful!! Let’s play a game. It’s called “Guess what area Gail and Royce are currently not very busy!!” … da da da.. *cue game show music*. Hint: It’s presently 11.30 on Wednesday morning.
Very glad you have arrived that Spanish TV is so enthralling! My favourite part is the update on Percy, and my favourite photo is the photo of your feet.
Hehehe glad to hear it isn’t too busy. I totally played game show music in my head. Percy says hi 🙂
Those are some nice looking packs! I’ve never heard of the tour group you mentioned, is it a lot of hiking and camping in the wilderness?
Nope, we are doing the hotel level so all accommodation is normal in hotels etc. Intrepid are pretty good, all about low impact travel and respecting local culture. They also have small groups rather than the 60 you get on contiki!
Never been on Contiki, but they do compete with EFCollege Break and I did two tours with them- one of Ireland then a New Years from London to Paris. It’s typical western accommodations so it was pricey but it gave a good taste of Europe so I felt comfortable trekking across the continent with Mark. 🙂 But EF has about 35, 60 is way too large, and I’m definitely into the low impact locally sourced treks. Have you done a tour with G Adv?
No we haven’t tried them! This is my first intrepid but B went on a really long one with them a few years ago (3 joined together) and was impressed. I found contiki gave me a good taste and we are doing part intrepid and part on our own this time around!
