Places I Have Been

• • I went off on my first real overseas trip in Sept/Oct 2012 (one short trip before that to Bali in 2010 really doesn’t count). It included a 19 day contiki trip around Europe as well as some time in London exploring the sights and seeing family. My younger cousin Emma and I went together. The first 30 (approx) entries in this blog are all about Europe as I started the blog for family back home.

• • In December 2013 I headed off on my second big overseas trip, this time to Japan! I was gone for 3 weeks and the trip included some time in the snow as well as time being a tourist, I went with my adorable, wonderful and eternally patient (well, patient with me anyway) partner B.

• • Between December 2013 and October 2015, we went to Hamilton Island as well as some little side trips to other Australian cities.

• • We then went on a big 6!week adventure through Europe in late 2015! Spain, France, Italy…amazing! We did this just before buying a house and it was a wonderful trip together, with so many amazing sights. I can’t recommend Intrepid Travel enough for organised tours.

• • Since then, we have gone back to smaller trips while we look at house renovations, further study, rescue dog fostering etc – 2017 included a MICF visit as well as a NYE Singapore trip. 2018 had another MICF visit and a trip to Fiji for 5 nights with 2019 looking very similar.

• • At the start of 2020 we went to Japan for a snow trip, as we arrived back the news was just starting to talk about “a worldwide flu”. Well. Wasn’t that a thing!? No trips for 2020 or 2021 until we decided to move across states during lockdowns. Being in WA, we were able to take short visits within the state for late 2021/22 so enjoyed some local exploring

• • In 2022 and 2023 we ventured overseas again with a short trip to Bali and a week in Thailand. We are planning another trip to Thailand in Nov 2023 (just to relax) and then a more adventure focused Vietnam trip in 2024
